Getting a visa extension means to acquire permission from the government to stay longer in Vietnam when your current visa is about to expire. You may be able to extend your visa while in Vietnam without leaving the country. You should apply to extend before your current visa expires. We recommend you to apply for visa extension at least 10days before your current visa expires.

The number of days of visa extension depends on the type of visa you currently have.

• If your current visa is 1 month visa you can get it extended for another 1 month.
• If your current visa is 3 month visa you can get it extended for another 1 month or 3 months.
